Description
The South Carolina Teaching Standards (SCTS) 4.0 self-paced learning module is an e-learning experience that offers an in-depth look at indicators that create and promote an environment of high and demanding expectations, thus giving students an opportunity to learn from mistakes and experience success. In this learning module, you will explore how teachers set academic expectations that are challenging and rigorous. Demanding academic expectations can prompt students to learn from their own mistakes, which can lead to increased success. You will have an opportunity to reflect on how you incorporate high expectations for every student, inspire students to learn from their mistakes, and establish opportunities that lead to success for all students. You will then be able to create a more challenging and effective learning environment for all students. This module is not designed to enhance or replicate evaluator training, but rather to refine and extend an educator’s growth and development.
*This learning module requires a major assessment submission that may make use of student data, collaboration/observations with other teachers, or work to be done with students in the classroom. When enrolling in this learning module, it is strongly recommended that you are actively teaching.
Major Assessment Artifact
For this Major Assessment Artifact in this learning module, you will be writing a self-reflective essay that explains how you incorporate high expectations for every student, inspire students to learn from their mistakes, and establish opportunities that lead to success for all students.
