Delivery, Enrollment, and Facilitation

This is a mastery-based course with no discussion forums. The course will be delivered in a fully online format. This course is non-facilitated, and is designed to be completed independently. It is self-paced, with an enrollment period of 60 days, which begins immediately upon confirmation of registration. A Help Forum is included in the course that will be carefully monitored by an online facilitator.

Description

This self-paced learning module is an eLearning experience that offers an in-depth look at South Carolina Teaching Standards (SCTS) 4.0 indicators that ask teachers to plan assessments that are consistently aligned with state standards and have explicit measurement criteria. Participants will explore the importance of designing assessments that measure student performance in multiple ways and will investigate effective ways to use assessment results. Participants will use guiding questions to create a PowerPoint presentation that details how they plan for assessment and evaluate their planning process as it relates to the course goals.

Major Assessment Artifact

In this Major Assessment Artifact for this learning module, you will be creating a PowerPoint that demonstrates how the assessment of a lesson you have taught or will teach supports the standard(s)/objective(s) that were taught, is clearly measurable, measures student performance in multiple ways, requires extended written tasks, and includes periodic checks for students’ progression toward specific goals.
