Description

Neuroscience has tremendous potential for counselors through integration with existing models. It is important that this potential is viewed through integration and application to practice. Counselors typically do not use abstractions or technical jargon in effective therapy sessions. Therefore, it is critical to present strategies for counselors that strike a balance between academic understanding and client access. While brain research is valuable in humanity’s progress and wellness, purely biological explanations are inherently limited. Hence, this course focuses on assisting counselors in making connections between theory and neuroscience. Practitioners can look closely at theories and apply the learnings to specific practice and clinical style.
