Delivery, Enrollment, and Facilitation

This is a mastery-based course with no discussion forums. The course will be delivered in a fully online format. This course is non-facilitated, and is designed to be completed independently. It is self-paced, with an enrollment period of 60 days, which begins immediately upon confirmation of registration. A Help Forum is included in the course that will be carefully monitored by a full-time online facilitator.

Description

The purpose of this learning module is to provide additional best practice resources and background for an educator who may be looking to refine/extend/or support his or her own professional growth in the use of academic feedback. This learning module is not designed to enhance or replicate evaluator training. In this learning module, you will see how teachers use questions, observations, and comments to inform students about their own learning progress. You will see how students can be taught to reflect upon their own work using a rubric and provide peer review to others using targeted comments and conversation focused on the assignment. You will also have an opportunity to plan your own forms of academic feedback, which focuses attention on the elements of the student performance rather than single focused encouragement statements.

Major Assessment Artifact

In the Major Assessment Artifact for this learning module, you will review a previously developed lesson plan and incorporate academic feedback by designing a feedback chart.
