Description
Educational technology has been around for quite a long time, but the tools included and the ways in which we use them have changed drastically in the past few years. This course is designed to help all educators become leaders in teaching and technology integration. It will introduce the participant to educational technology and current research on critical issues, trends, diffusion and adoption of technology, and history and theoretical foundations of the field. Participants will identify, develop, and apply a variety of technological skills congruent to their educational technology philosophy. Likewise, they will develop a keen understanding of how to use technology to support student-driven learning in authentic contexts.

Prerequisites
This is an intermediate level course for teachers, literacy coaches, curriculum specialists, professional development specialists, or other school personnel. Participants are expected to have regular access to computers with Internet access. In addition, participants should be proficient with browsing the Internet, uploading and downloading content, navigating to computer files, and with using word processing software, email, and attachments.
