Description
In this learning module, you will see how a well-planned lesson can activate a student’s behavior and give it personal, meaningful direction. You will observe a class and collect artifacts using an observation form on the evidence of an engaged classroom. You will observe verbal and non-verbal interactions in the classroom, which, demonstrate the students’ ability to construct reasoning through a problem and discovering the underlying principle on their own which is established through the teacher’s understanding of students’ learning styles and background knowledge. You will see how a teacher uses various instructional strategies to reach the needs of all learners. This learning module will offer you the opportunity to use evidenced-based data gathered through observations to apply your understanding of these concepts to an authentic classroom. You will be given an opportunity to reflect on your own ideas concerning motivating students. This module is not designed to enhance or replicate evaluator training, bur rather to refine and extend an educator’s growth and development.
*This learning module requires a major assessment submission that may make use of student data, collaboration/observations with other teachers, or work to be done with students in the classroom. When enrolling in this learning module, it is strongly recommended that you are actively teaching.
