R2S Literacy Coach Endorsement

Are you interested in adding the R2S Literacy Coach Endorsement to your South Carolina teaching certificate? We offer coursework that will enhance your R2S Literacy Teacher Endorsement. The coursework for this endorsement is offered as graduate courses worth 3 graduate credit hours and 60 renewal credits each.

The R2S Literacy Coach Endorsement was created by S.516 Read to Succeed Act for all certified educators who meet the following prerequisites:

Two years of successful teaching experience
Read to Succeed Literacy Teacher Endorsement
- This includes taking all 4 R2S courses:
  - Foundations of Reading
  - Assessment of Reading
  - Instructional Practices
  - Content Area Reading and Writing

To earn the R2S Literacy Coach Endorsement, educators must submit evidence of completion of two (2) approved courses taken as professional development (PD, 120 contact hours).

These courses are pre-approved by the South Carolina Department of Education’s Office of Educator Services for earning the R2S Literacy Coach certification endorsement. To add the endorsement once you have completed all courses, you must submit a request through My SC Educator Portal and have the College of Charleston send an official transcript.
