To earn the Literacy Specialist Endorsement, you must meet the following prerequisites:

To earn the R2S Literacy Specialist Endorsement, educators must submit evidence of completion of four (4) approved courses taken as college coursework, or 12 credit hours total of professional development for 240 contact hours.

These courses are pre-approved by the South Carolina Department of Education’s Office of Educator Services for earning the R2S Literacy Specialist certification endorsement. To add the endorsement once you have completed all courses, you must submit a request through My SC Educator Portal and have the College of Charleston send an official transcript.
